La salvaci\u00f3n me lleg\u00f3 con una oferta de trabajo del Swan, un pub del barrio con \u00ednfulas gastron\u00f3micas que me conchab\u00f3 como pinche de cocina. Arte culinario, arte narrativo, actividades emparentadas, as\u00ed que la cosa no pintaba tan mal hasta que descubr\u00ed, no sin sorpresa, que aquello era un aut\u00e9ntico infierno. Y no por el calor de los fogones, sino porque, adem\u00e1s de las jornadas de quince horas, hab\u00eda que soportar al maldito Bob, el chef, un energ\u00fameno s\u00e1dico y despiadado, aficionado a machacarte con castigos tan sofisticados como encerrarte en una c\u00e1mara frigor\u00edfica rodeado de langostas vivas. Pero no todo era fuego y quejidos: mis compa\u00f1eros de curro eran unos locos pringados que enseguida me apodaron el mon\u00f3culo, seguramente por mi exquisita dicci\u00f3n. El escu\u00e1lido Dibden, el racista Dave, el salaz Ramilov y, \u00a1ay!, la deliciosa Harmony se convirtieron en mis hermanos de lucha, sobre todo cuando fue perfil\u00e1ndose un diab\u00f3lico plan para deshacerse de Bob.
