Comenz\u00f3 en aquel entonces y los detalles posteriores fueron s\u00f3lo agregados y aclaraciones. Toda mi actividad posterior consisti\u00f3 en elaborar lo que hab\u00eda irrumpido en aquellos a\u00f1os desde lo inconsciente y que en un primer momento me desbord\u00f3. Era la materia originaria para una obra de vida. Todo lo que vino posteriormente fue la mera clasificaci\u00f3n externa, la elaboraci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica, su integraci\u00f3n en la vida. Pero el comienzo numinoso, que todo lo conten\u00eda ya estaba all\u00ed\u00bb.\u00c9stas son las palabras del psic\u00f3logo C. G. Jung en 1957, referidas a las d\u00e9cadas en las que trabaj\u00f3 en El libro rojo (Liber Novus &#8211; Das Rote Buch) desde 1914 a 1930. Si bien se supo de su existencia durante m\u00e1s de ochenta a\u00f1os, nunca fue publicado ni estuvo disponible para el amplio n\u00famero de estudiosos y seguidores de Jung. Se publica ahora nada menos que el libro central de la obra de Jung, en una edici\u00f3n facs\u00edmil completa con un estudio preliminar y notas de Sonu Shamdasani, destacado estudioso de Jung.Ahora ser\u00e1 posible estudiar la auto-experimentaci\u00f3n de Jung por medio de fuentes primarias en lugar de hacerlo mediante fantas\u00edas, rumores y especulaciones, y comprender la g\u00e9nesis de sus trabajos posteriores. Durante casi un siglo, dicha lectura fue simplemente imposible y la vasta literatura sobre su vida y obra careci\u00f3 del acceso a su documento m\u00e1s importante. Esta publicaci\u00f3n posibilita una nueva era en la comprensi\u00f3n de la obra de Jung y adem\u00e1s arroja una nueva luz respecto de la recuperaci\u00f3n de su alma y la constituci\u00f3n de una psicolog\u00eda. Se trata quiz\u00e1s de la obra in\u00e9dita m\u00e1s influyente de la historia de la psicolog\u00eda.El libro rojo revela no s\u00f3lo el trabajo de una mente extraordinaria sino tambi\u00e9n la mano de un talentoso artista y cal\u00edgrafo. Intercaladas entre m\u00e1s de doscientas p\u00e1ginas iluminadas hay pinturas cuyas influencias oscilan desde Europa, Oriente Medio y Extremo Oriente hasta el arte nativo americano. Al igual que un Libro de horas medieval, es \u00fanico.
