Como es natural, estaban condicionados por el pre-juicio inevitable de su propia cultura y sus convicciones m\u00e1s profundas. Pero descubrieron, primero para ellos y luego con repercusiones para el mismo Occidente, uno de sus filones m\u00e1s ricos, que llevaba el nombre griego de \u201cfilosof\u00eda\u201d, cuando \u00e9sta no se hab\u00eda a\u00fan escindido en religi\u00f3n y sabidur\u00eda, ni convertido en pensamiento exclusivamente racional. James Heisig conoce en profundidad tanto el trasfondo japon\u00e9s como el contexto euroamericano. Ello le permite hacer una s\u00edntesis magistral de la filosof\u00eda de estos tres grandes pensadores, fecundados a su vez por la filosof\u00eda europea. La presente obra es m\u00e1s que una simple introducci\u00f3n a la escuela de Kioto. Es una obra cr\u00edtica que tamiza su aportaci\u00f3n a lo que el autor llama &#8216;filosof\u00eda mundial&#8217;.
