Este libro cierra un ciclo de novelas que puede considerarse la cr\u00f3nica moral de una generaci\u00f3n universitaria, la que accedi\u00f3 a la Universidad a principios de los a\u00f1os sesenta, iniciada con la publicaci\u00f3n de un libro que es ya un hito en la historia de la novela espa\u00f1ola, El Mercurio, publicado en 1968 y punto de partida de una nueva narrativa que romp\u00eda de manera tajante con la tradici\u00f3n anterior.
