No tan s\u00f3lo porque no se le dedique el tiempo o las energ\u00edas suficientes, sino tambi\u00e9n en gran medida porque la falta de informaci\u00f3n sobre la realidad del aprendizaje y las expectativas poco realistas frente al mismo afectan a la motivaci\u00f3n y derivan en altas tasas de abandono del estudio de este idioma. Es fundamental pues que realicemos un ejercicio de honestidad hacia el estudio del ingl\u00e9s y de sinceridad con nosotros mismos sobre c\u00f3mo nos enfrentamos a \u00e9l: qu\u00e9 creencias nos lastran y qu\u00e9 actitudes podr\u00edamos potenciar para aprender m\u00e1s, cu\u00e1les son nuestros puntos fuertes y c\u00f3mo utilizar la gran cantidad de recursos a nuestro alcance para optimizar nuestro aprendizaje. Se han escrito y escribir\u00e1n muchos libros sobre el aprendizaje del ingl\u00e9s, pero poco se ha dicho sobre la actitud que tenemos ante el aprendizaje del ingl\u00e9s y los mitos que pueden determinar nuestro \u00e9xito o nuestro fracaso en el estudio del idioma: afirmaciones como \u201cyo ya soy muy mayor para estudiar un idioma\u201d, \u201cyo nunca he servido para los idiomas\u201d o \u201cun idioma s\u00f3lo se puede aprender bien en el pa\u00eds\u201d o las frustraciones por ejemplo derivadas del bajo nivel adquirido tras muchos a\u00f1os de estudio. Una vez desmontados los mitos y comprendidas y superadas las frustraciones tendr\u00e1s la mejor disposici\u00f3n para aprender una serie de estrategias para optimizar el aprendizaje presentadas en la \u00faltima parte del libro: estrategias para mantener la motivaci\u00f3n, recursos para entender mejor a los nativos cuando te hablen, etc. Este libro te ofrece una ventaja extraordinaria como estudiante. Tras su lectura podr\u00e1s saber c\u00f3mo superar los mitos y frustraciones, descubrir cu\u00e1l es tu estilo de aprendizaje, c\u00f3mo estudiar ingl\u00e9s en cualquier situaci\u00f3n y aprender\u00e1s a pensar y actuar de la manera \u00f3ptima para conseguir tu objetivo: ser un estudiante aventajado que despunta en ingl\u00e9s.
