Pese a sus pesadillas, la vida de Almudena transcurre placidamente, hasta que de golpe, su mundo se desmorona ante la muerte de sus padres luego de la ruina familiar. Tras quedarse hu\u00e9rfana, Almudena ingresa a un orfanato, del que sale como institutriz. Mientras tanto, durante esos a\u00f1os, sus sue\u00f1os recurrentes cada vez le van aportando nuevos datos e infinidad de pistas en las que ella se ve caminado por el bosque, siendo otra persona. Tiempo despu\u00e9s, la joven institutriz recibe la oferta de un trabajo, en la ciudad de Granada\u2026 lugar en el que ella est\u00e1, casi segura, de haber vivido anteriormente.
