Semanas antes, unos j\u00f3venes hab\u00edan prendido fuego a un mendigo que se refugiaba en el cajero de una entidad bancaria. Dos muertes violentas, en apariencia sin ninguna conexi\u00f3n entre s\u00ed. Lino Ortega, viejo y eficiente inspector de polic\u00eda de la comisar\u00eda de Torremolinos, ser\u00e1 el encargado de resolver un caso que se complica por momentos. A la lista de primeros sospechosos se van uniendo otros que parecen haber tenido motivos para asesinar al anciano y, sin embargo, todos ellos poseen s\u00f3lidas coartadas. Con la crisis econ\u00f3mica como tel\u00f3n de fondo, el relato sigue dos hilos argumentales: por una parte, nos muestra las vicisitudes diarias de Ricardo, uno de los hijos de la v\u00edctima, sus complejos emocionales e implicaci\u00f3n como testigo del homicidio del mendigo. La otra linea nos lleva al inspector Lino Ortega, sus problemas con el alcohol y su frustraci\u00f3n como padre de un hijo, Carmelo, que desde hace tiempo no quiere saber nada de \u00e9l. Y, por toda la historia se mueve de forma inquietante, como una sombra, el mensajero negro de Snoikoff, due\u00f1o de un conocido puticlub de la Costa. El \u00e1ngel negro es una obra que sorprende gratamente por su bien estructurada trama. Jos\u00e9 Manuel Portero, con un estilo fluido, una prosa cuidada y el perfecto control del ritmo narrativo, consigue enganchar al lector desde la primera p\u00e1gina y no le deja hasta el inesperado final.
