Se trata de una evasi\u00f3n \u00abcl\u00e1sica\u00bb, quiz\u00e1 porqu\u00e9 fu\u00e9 concebida seg\u00fan unos moldes cl\u00e1sicos. Los griegos construyeron un caballo de tonelera para introducirse en la ciudad de Troya; en el a\u00f1o 1943, dos oficiales ingleses utilizaron un caballo de madera para escaparse de un campo de concentraci\u00f3n alem\u00e1n. El autor de la obra, Eric Williams, es uno de los protagonistas de esta aventura. Los hechos, hasta en sus m\u00e1s m\u00ednimos detalles, son verdaderos. Lo fant\u00e1stico de la haza\u00f1a, la paciencia y energ\u00eda que revela, los nervios de acero que representa, se reflejan incluso en el estilo del relato. Los caracteres est\u00e1n tan vivamente pintados que tienen que ser reales a la fuerza. Por el libro discurre una fin\u00edsima vena de humor.
