En esta ocasi\u00f3n Greene viaja alPanam\u00e1 de Omar Torrijos para ser el inmejorable testigo de la querella de unanaci\u00f3n por su soberan\u00eda. Pero Elgeneral (t\u00edtulo sugerido [al FCE] por Gabriel Garc\u00eda M\u00e1rquez, amigocom\u00fan de Greene y de Torrijos y personaje del libro) es algo m\u00e1s: la historiade un compromiso.
