Pero lo que ten\u00eda que ser una tranquila estancia se convierte en un episodio dram\u00e1tico; Little Bee y su hermana, testigos no deseados de una matanza, se salvan milagrosamente, en parte gracias a Andrew y Sarah, que se interponen a favor de las muchachas ante las fuerzas del orden nigerianas. Dos a\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde, Little Bee, que ha cumplido diecis\u00e9is a\u00f1os, contacta con la pareja desde Inglaterra, donde acaba de salir de un centro para inmigrantes ilegales. Pero cuando Little Bee se presenta en su casa, Sarah est\u00e1 prepar\u00e1ndose para el funeral de su marido, quien nunca super\u00f3 la tr\u00e1gica experiencia de Nigeria.
