En el Ensayo se examinan la naturaleza y los l\u00edmites del conocimiento humano. Para ello se atiende al origen y los modos \u00aben que llegan a nosotros todas las ideas que nuestro entendimiento emplea al pensar\u00bb y, en contraposici\u00f3n con Descartes, se afirma descubrir que todo nuestro conocimiento depende de la experiencia y que, por tanto, no hay verdades innatas accesibles mediante el intelecto.
