Se desarrolla primero en Singapur poco antes de ser conquistado por los japoneses, y nos muestra la c\u00f3moda vida de los brit\u00e1nicos en el Lejano Oriente. Cuando se produce la ca\u00edda de Singapur y la derrota del ejercito ingl\u00e9s, un gran numero de mujeres, esposas e hijas de militares, enfermeras, misioneras, criadas, etc van a parar a los campos de concentraci\u00f3n japoneses.
