La trama gira alrededor de tres personajes -un joven y prometedor escritor, otro afamado pero ya en decadencia, y la mujer a la que ambos aman- para los que el arte y la creaci\u00f3n constituyen elementos esenciales en sus vidas, por lo que las elecciones vitales que tendr\u00e1n marcadas por el dilema entre fama y \u00e9xito art\u00edstico.
