Pero al contar su pasado, mi madre se liber\u00f3 de una existencia de una vida en la que raramente fue feliz. Durante muchos d\u00edas la escuch\u00e9, intentando seguir sus incoherencies, y sufr\u00eda a su lado mientras la descubr\u00eda de nuevo. Mi madre ha sido escrito a partir de retazos de recuerdos que ella me entreg\u00f3 en sus confesiones. Me permitieron reconstruir su vida en la vieja ciudad de Fes de los a\u00f1os 30 y 40 del siglo pasado, imaginar sus momentos de alegr\u00eda, de adivinar sus frustraciones. Una y otra vez tuve que inventor sus emociones y leer \u2014o para ser m\u00e1s exactos\u2014 traducer sus silencios.
