El personaje era un abogado que lleg\u00f3 a aparecer en 80 novelas e historias cortas, la mayor\u00eda de las cuales versaban sobre la defensa de un cliente que hab\u00eda sido acusado de asesinato. En general, Perry Mason era capaz de demostrar la inocencia de su cliente mediante la averiguaci\u00f3n de la culpabilidad del verdadero asesino, otro personaje de la historia. El personaje de Perry Mason tambi\u00e9n es muy conocido por sus apariciones en pel\u00edculas y en la televisi\u00f3n, incluyendo una de las series de abogados de mayor \u00e9xito y de mayor duraci\u00f3n,[1] entre 1957 y 1966.
