Convencidos de esto, Juan Tonda y Julieta Fierro, reconocidos cient\u00edficos profundamente comprometidos con la divulgaci\u00f3n de la ciencia, escribieron El libro de las cochinadas, en donde nos presentan a grandes salvadores de los seres humanos: los mocos, la caca, los escupitajos, el sudor, la orina, los pedos, los granos, el v\u00f3mito y los eructos. Parte fundamental de la obra son las divertid\u00edsimas e ingeniosas ilustraciones de Jos\u00e9 Luis Perujo, Premio Nacional de Caricatura en M\u00e9xico. Pero los autores no s\u00f3lo presentan a estos imprescindibles personajes, sino que celebran su existencia: No hay placer m\u00e1s grande que tirarse un pedo. Fierro -directora general de Divulgaci\u00f3n de la Ciencia de la Universidad Nacional Aut\u00f3noma de M\u00e9xico (UNAM)- y Juan Tonda -f\u00edsico y subdirector de medios escritos de la Direcci\u00f3n General de Divulgaci\u00f3n de la Ciencia de la UNAM- est\u00e1n convencidos de que el rigor acad\u00e9mico no tiene por qu\u00e9 ir acompa\u00f1ado de una cara seria y solemne. Pero as\u00ed es la condici\u00f3n humana (llena de caca y pedos). Pero El libro de las cochinadas no s\u00f3lo contiene datos, tambi\u00e9n trae ejemplos para poner en pr\u00e1ctica, datos de la combustibilidad del excremento, la capacidad adhesiva de los mocos, los or\u00edgenes del WC, el origen de las espinillas, la cera de los o\u00eddos, las pelotillas de los dedos de los pies, o las listas de alimentos que contribuyen a ahuyentar al pr\u00f3jimo. Incluye, adem\u00e1s, una secci\u00f3n de frases y glosario terminol\u00f3gico de palabras tab\u00fa relacionadas con la escatolog\u00eda o ciencia de la caca, como dicen los autores. La obra est\u00e1 dirigida a personas de todas las edades.
