Son esos mismos ojos grandes, brillantes como esferas de vidrio, que hemos visto representados en tantos retratos. En uno de sus \u00faltimos poemas, escrito en la c\u00e1rcel y no recogido en ning\u00fan libro, escribe: &#8216;Yo que cre\u00ed que la luz era m\u00eda \/ precipitado en la sombra me veo&#8217;. Pero el poema (y con \u00e9l, la Obra po\u00e9tica completa del poeta) termina con estos versos: &#8216;Pero hay un rayo de sol en la lucha \/ que siempre deja la sombra vencida&#8217;.Federico Bravo Morata nos aporta una biograf\u00eda del poeta desde sus primeros a\u00f1os hasta su muerte en 1942. Alterna los sucesos hist\u00f3ricos, los hechos personales en la vida de Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez, con un gran n\u00famero de poes\u00edas del propio Miguel, comentadas y analizadas por Bravo Morata.Tal vez sea hoy una biograf\u00eda a la que le faltan ciertos detalles de la vida de Hern\u00e1ndez, como su vida amorosa al margen de Josefina Manresa, como Mar\u00eda Cegarra, Maruja Mallo, quiz\u00e1 todav\u00eda se conoc\u00eda poco de la vida de Miguel.
