En \u00e9l convergen tradiciones y conflictos sociales antiguos con coyunturas de oportunidad pol\u00edtica; se caracteriza por surgir en la clandestinidad, su trayectoria es discontinua, su liderazgo a veces opaco y su cohesi\u00f3n dif\u00edcil. Por eso no siempre ha estado libre de dudas y de interpretaciones sesgadas y a menudo se le ha excluido de la \u00e9pica de la guerra civil, e incluso denostado. No es menos cierto que su estudio ha adolecido con frecuencia de voluntarismos reivindicativos y de paneg\u00edricos ideol\u00f3gicos. Este libro desgrana el complejo fen\u00f3meno del movimiento guerrillero. Los textos se articulan en torno a los or\u00edgenes ideol\u00f3gicos y sociales y al contexto hist\u00f3rico en el que se produce; en torno a sus protagonistas y a los territorios en los que surge y se desenvuelve y en torno a las fuentes documentales, base de toda labor historiogr\u00e1fica, para desvelarnos sus claves.Julio Ar\u00f3stegui es Catedr\u00e1tico de Historia Contempor\u00e1nea en la UCM y director de la C\u00e1tedra Extraordinaria \u201cMemoria Hist\u00f3rica del siglo XX\u201d.
