Se pueden leer en este libro pasajesdescriptivos de asombrosa sensibilidad y enorme belleza.Pero hay m\u00e1s en este libro. Algunacr\u00edtica de Viaje en autob\u00fas afirmaque lo mejor del libro es que en \u00e9l no pasa nada; pero si pasa. Pasa ymucho. El libro es una cr\u00f3nica social de este pa\u00eds en aqu\u00e9lmomento concreto y como cualquier cr\u00f3nica escrita en presente sobremomentos del pasado muestra los antecedentes de las circunstanciasque ahora nos acontecen. Se da la circunstancia de que el momento enque Pla elabor\u00f3 esta cr\u00f3nica result\u00f3 ser crucial: la posguerracivil espa\u00f1ola, en que el pa\u00eds iniciaba su andadura por los caminosque nos han tra\u00eddo hasta aqu\u00ed. Sabemos d\u00f3nde estamos, a d\u00f3ndehemos llegado. En el libro encontraremos el por qu\u00e9.
