Pero si la escribe MacIntyre hay tres cosas que son seguras. La primera es que esa historia se va a escribir con el m\u00e9todo de la filosof\u00eda narrativa \u2014tan propio de este autor-. La segunda es que el enfoque desde la \u00e9tica de la virtud, el gran tema del pensador escoc\u00e9s en su af\u00e1n por superar una \u00e9tica meramente pr\u00e1ctica, va a estar siempre presente. Y la tercera, por supuesto, es que la calidad y profundidad del pensamiento est\u00e1n m\u00e1s que aseguradas, sin que eso suponga que MacIntyre escriba sin dejar espacio al di\u00e1logo e incluso al debate con el lector.Conviene notar que se trata de una historia de la \u00e9tica hasta 1966 (aunque tambi\u00e9n es cierto que, desde entonces hasta ahora, en el campo de la reflexi\u00f3n \u00e9tica m\u00e1s que novedades lo que ha habido es variaciones no especialmente llamativas sobre modelos ya existentes), y que no es anecd\u00f3tico que el t\u00edtulo original hable de una \u00abbreve\u00bb historia de la \u00e9tica, centr\u00e1ndose, adem\u00e1s, en la \u00e9tica del mundo occidental.
