Desde la soledad, la visita del pasado se hace inevitable, no s\u00f3lo a trav\u00e9s de cartas y recuerdos, sino entre visitas y encuentros inesperados. La segunda parte est\u00e1 escrita en tono de memoria. La historia ha terminado, al menos para la voz del narrador, el tono es m\u00e1s pausado y, parad\u00f3jicamente, la narraci\u00f3n m\u00e1s \u00e1gil: la comprensi\u00f3n se abre poco a poco. En ese lapso se han cruzado pasado, presente y futuro; adem\u00e1s de los sue\u00f1os, los posibles y los imposibles.El protagonista, un director teatral de unos sesenta a\u00f1os (la autora ten\u00eda 49 al publicarla), es un personaje en tr\u00e1nsito: de la acci\u00f3n a la contemplaci\u00f3n, del deseo a la comprensi\u00f3n, del coraje a la compasi\u00f3n.
