Tiempo despu\u00e9s, esos relatos fueron agrupados en un mismo libro, cuyo t\u00edtulo se conoce en espa\u00f1ol como \u201cEl libro de la selva\u201d o \u201cEl libro de las tierras v\u00edrgenes\u201d.Aunque esta colecci\u00f3n haya tenido, en un primer momento, fines literarios, es probable que muchos ni\u00f1os, j\u00f3venes y adultos de la actualidad hayan conocido esta entretenida y did\u00e1ctica propuesta gracias a la pantalla grande, ya que el contenido del libro fue convertido en pel\u00edcula por los estudios Disney.Kipling elabor\u00f3 este trabajo que, hasta el d\u00eda de hoy, est\u00e1 considerado como un cl\u00e1sico del g\u00e9nero de aventuras, inspirado en la selva de la India. Con ese escenario como centro de la acci\u00f3n, el tambi\u00e9n creador de obras como \u201cCapitanes intr\u00e9pidos\u201d opt\u00f3 por \u201chacer hablar\u201d a los animales con el prop\u00f3sito de brindar consejos o lecciones morales para generar, de este modo, conciencia y reflexiones en torno a la relaci\u00f3n existente entre la naturaleza y el hombre.Ese perfil instructivo que se vuelve evidente, por ejemplo, al descubrir las reglas de convivencia \u00fatiles para sobrevivir \u201cen la selva\u201d que el autor incluy\u00f3 en estos cuentos, hizo de \u201cEl libro de las tierras v\u00edrgenes\u201d un material indispensable para la motivaci\u00f3n de muchos exploradores.Aunque los relatos son m\u00e1s de diez, no se puede dejar de reconocer que los m\u00e1s famosos son los que tienen a Mowgli como protagonista.
