En todos y cada uno de estos relatos, el autor proyecta una desbordante imaginaci\u00f3n, una creatividad radical, rupturista, y, tal vez lo que es m\u00e1s importante, la mentalidad que molde\u00f3 el movimiento existencialista: frente a la angustia existencial, no queda otra salida que el puro disparate narrativo, la l\u00f3gica on\u00edrica, la s\u00e1tira, el absurdo. En este marco de referencias, los relatos de Vian captan la atenci\u00f3n del lector de una forma cautivadoramente endemoniada.El primero de estos cuentos, El lobo-hombre, recrea al rev\u00e9s la leyenda del hombre lobo: ahora resulta ser un lobo, que adem\u00e1s es vegetariano, el que se convierte en hombre, por culpa del mordisco que le propina un mago&#8230; A partir de esta inversi\u00f3n narrativa todo es posible y por las p\u00e1ginas de los cuentos siguientes circulan personajes de lo m\u00e1s grotesco: desde una bailarina del Bronx que se excita fren\u00e9ticamente atropellando a perros y personas conduciendo un taxi, hasta chiflados, p\u00edcaros, ingenuos, ladrones. Con esta galer\u00eda de tipos, Boris Vian nos comunica el espectro de unos a\u00f1os decisivos de la vida europea y lo hace desde los enfoques que hab\u00eda dise\u00f1ado la filosof\u00eda existencialista.El resultado de estas creaciones literarias nos conduce a una absurdidad reflexiva y tremenda que sobrecoge con la misma intensidad que la mejor pintura abstracta. Cada uno de estos cuentos desmonta y reconstruye la realidad en un ejercicio implacable de captar el mundo no inmediato. En definitiva, lo que le interesaba al Boris Vian escritor era romper con todos los convencionalismos que ahogaban su \u00e9poca.
