Emanuel Quint, escrita en 1890, es una novela en la que el autor re\u00fane varios motivos recurrentes, como lo son el ambiente silesio, la cr\u00edtica de la sociedad burguesa, la ingrata vida de los humildes y la nostalgia de un renacimiento de la caridad y la esperanza cristianas. Una novela que toma como punto de partida la propia vida de Jesucristo. Vida maravillosa que repite la religiosidad del joven hijo de un carpintero saqueado por la fe. Emanuel es seguido por unos remedos de disc\u00edpulos fan\u00e1ticos, y es re\u00f1ido, reverenciado, deshonrado y, por \u00faltimo, encarcelado, transform\u00e1ndose en un m\u00e1rtir de una \u00e9poca forjada a espaldas de Dios. Por fin, Emanuel renuncia a su misi\u00f3n y muere solitario en las monta\u00f1as. Esta novela es sumamente importante y, a la vez, contradictoria, que termina por reflejar el conflicto personal de Gerhart Hauptmann, de hecho, es el conflicto de todo un momento en la historia de Alemania: la oposici\u00f3n entre el intelectualismo positivista y el anhelo religioso.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
