C. por Esquilo. Est\u00e1 ambientada en la Batalla de Salamina, correspondiente a las Guerras M\u00e9dicas. Es la obra teatral m\u00e1s antigua que se conserva. Tambi\u00e9n destaca por ser la \u00fanica tragedia griega basada en hechos contempor\u00e1neos.Se produjo en 472 a. C. junto a otras tres obras, que no sobreviven, pero que probablemente se relacionaban tambi\u00e9n con las Guerras M\u00e9dicas. La primera obra, Fineo, se dedicaba aparentemente a la figura mitol\u00f3gica Fineo, quien ayud\u00f3 a Jas\u00f3n y los Argonautas a pasar a Asia. Los persas era la segunda parte. La obra destaca especialmente al ser la \u00fanica tragedia griega que se conserva que se bas\u00f3 en aut\u00e9nticos hechos hist\u00f3ricos, b\u00e1sicamente, la Batalla de Salamina. Esa batalla tuvo lugar en el a\u00f1o 480 a. C., s\u00f3lo ocho a\u00f1os antes de que se representara Los persas. Esquilo hab\u00eda participado en la batalla, y es muy probable que la mayor parte de su p\u00fablico ateniense tambi\u00e9n participase o se viera afectado directamente por ella. Glauco Potnieo, la tercera parte, parece haber tenido como tema la batalla de Platea de 479 a. C.
