En aquella ocasi\u00f3n, coinciden tres hombres: Muhammad ibn Ammar, poeta andalus\u00ed de origen \u00e1rabe; Y\u00fcnus ibn al Awar, m\u00e9dico jud\u00edo; y Lope, un escudero de tan s\u00f3lo quince a\u00f1os. Tiempo despu\u00e9s, los tres coinciden de nuevo en la ciudad de Sevilla, donde Muhammad ibn Ammar se ha convertido en gran visir. Pero esta vez sus vidas convergen en una terrible historia de amor y venganza de la que les es dif\u00edcil sustraerse.El puente de Alc\u00e1ntara ofrece una perfecta oportunidad para revisar una parte important\u00edsima de la historia de la Reconquista. Obra rigurosa y cuidada, apoyada en una ingente labor de investigaci\u00f3n (el autor, Frank Baer, dedic\u00f3 tres a\u00f1os a documentarse y otros dos a redactarla), la novela recrea con realismo, con toda la crudeza propia de la \u00e9poca, las relaciones entre cristianos, \u00e1rabes y jud\u00edos, en un tiempo cuyo recuerdo nos ha llegado distorsionado por la leyenda.
