Juntos hicieron seis obras maestras del cine: Diario de una camarera, Belle de Jour, La v\u00eda L\u00e1ctea, El discreto encanto de la burgues\u00eda, El fantasma de la libertad y Ese oscuro objeto del deseo. El libro naci\u00f3 espont\u00e1neamente de sus entrevistas en Espa\u00f1a y M\u00e9xico durante los intervalos de las sesiones de trabajo; el uno evocando sus recuerdos, y el otro recogiendo las palabras de su amigo y anot\u00e1ndolas. Mi \u00faltimo suspiro recoge la voz y las propias palabras de Luis Bu\u00f1uel, y nos da una particular visi\u00f3n del genial cineasta y de su mundo m\u00e1s personal.Con una mirada ir\u00f3nica pero al mismo tiempo n\u00edtida, objetiva, cercana y con la suficiente distancia, Luis Bu\u00f1uel nos relata situaciones de su infancia y juventud, narra su amistad con Lorca, Dal\u00ed y muchos otros personajes influyentes del siglo XX a los que desmitifica y al mismo tiempo alaba con cari\u00f1o, nos relata las locuras realizadas en el seno del grupo surrealista, sus contradicciones y evoluci\u00f3n y su posterior desaparici\u00f3n y su influencia innegable en la cultura posterior, desgrana las atrocidades de la Guerra Civil y sus actividades en el exilio, nos cuenta sus viajes a Hollywood, las dificultades de subsistencia, su aproximaci\u00f3n a la industria del cine en M\u00e9xico y la oportunidad de realizar all\u00ed tantas pel\u00edculas, etc. Todo ello salpicado de un fino humor, de una inmensa ternura, de un amor por la vida que nos atrapa en cada una de las palabras que conforman el libro.En definitiva, prosa llana y cruda que transmite un cercan\u00eda poco habitual. Las frases de Bu\u00f1uel desprenden en cada l\u00ednea una f\u00e9rrea fuerza vital. La lectura de estos recuerdos es, sobre todo y ante todo, un canto a la vida, a las ganas de vivir, a la necesidad de exprimir cada segundo, cada minuto, cada oportunidad que se presente en la vida.
