Desde su aparici\u00f3n en 1980 fue saludada como un hito en la ciencia ficci\u00f3n de tipo hard \u00abdura\u00bb y la sucesora indiscutible de la m\u00edtica Mission of gravity (1953) de Hal Clement que, hasta entonces, hab\u00eda sido el cl\u00e1sico obligado en este tipo de ciencia ficci\u00f3n.En la novela de Forward encontramos adem\u00e1s la sorprendente, ir\u00f3nica y fascinante descripci\u00f3n de la civilizaci\u00f3n de los cheela, que es una de las bazas fundamentales del libro. Poco a poco les vemos superar la barbarie, descubrir la agricultura, establecer una organizaci\u00f3n social superior al clan, \u00abinventar\u00bb la religi\u00f3n, profundizar en las ciencias y sus aplicaciones t\u00e9cnicas, etc. Y todo ello compone un fresco que se superpone a los aspectos m\u00e1s estrictamente cient\u00edficos del tema central: la posible vida en una estrella de neutrones.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Robert L.
